ROUGH-TEX PLATFORM DIVING
SURFACE INSTALLATION

ROUGH-TEX INSTALLATION INFORMATION
Thank you for your decision to purchase Rough-Tex Surface for your diving platform, pool deck or locker room area. The following information might be helpful to you for proper installation and use of your Rough-Tex surface. Please call us if you have any questions or need additional information.
NOTE: DIVE Cincinnati, Inc. is neither the manufacturer nor the installer of Rough-Tex Surface. DIVE Cincinnati assumes no liability for incorrect sizing, style, color or any other errors that may be made by the person or entity ordering, installing or otherwise using this material. Please double-check your measurements prior to placing your order.

Rough-Tex was not originally manufactured for use as a diving platform surface. It has been, however, successfully used for many years as an excellent non-skid surface on many diving platforms (both indoors and outdoors) around the world. Rough-Tex is less expensive than other non-skid diving platform surfaces on the market today. Use of Rough-tex over other products is simply a matter of personal preference.

DIVE Cincinnati, Inc. makes the following recommendations to help make for successful installation and use of your Rough-Tex Surface:

  1. Prior to placing your actual order, request samples of the Rough-Tex material from DIVE Cincinnati and perform a test installation using your chosen adhesive.
  2. Hire a reputable and competent flooring contractor to install the Rough-Tex surface.
  3. The surface onto which you will attach the Rough-Tex material should be clean and be without paint of any kind.
  4. If attaching to concrete, the concrete should contain no curing compounds (water cured only). If curing compounds have been used, the surface must be thoroughly cleaned and scarified (Rough-grinding) prior to installation.
  5. Use good contact cement such as 3M 1300 or 3M 1357 or Mondo’s PU 100 2-part polyurethane adhesive. Closely follow all manufacturers instructions for proper use of their respective adhesive products.
  6. Use weights to hold down the edges of the Rough-Tex after installation until adhesive is dry.
  7. Use an edge-sealing compound to seal the edges of the Rough-Tex.
  8. Allow adhesive to thoroughly dry prior to any use or activity.
